2. Who should detoxify?

Lifestyle provides clues for deciding how and when to detoxify.

3. When should you detoxify?

  • Spring and Fall are key times for detoxification
  • When you feel congested or experience symptoms of toxicity
  • In preparation for conception (both men and women) - fertility issues
  • Anytime you feel you need to regain body homeostasis.

4. Symptoms of toxicity?

  • Fatigue
  • Mucus problems
  • Aches and pains
  • Digestive problems
  • Obesity - toxins are fat soluble and become protected in fat
  • "Allergy" symptoms
  • Sensitivity to environmental agents like chemicals, perfumes and synthetics

5. How do we accumulate toxins?

Toxins are accumulated through what we put in our mouths, put on our skin and breath through into our lungs.

6. How will a detox help women age well?

Toxins cause cellular damage.

Aging cells, and lack of efficiency of the cell causes communication in the cells to deplete.  Toxins interfere with all metabolic pathways of communication in the body that affect all body systems including a very important system, the Endocrine System, which dictates our hormone communication.

When we give our bodies the opportunity to “clean house” we are providing a more efficient process the body systems were designed for.

With minimal toxins our skin has a youthful glow, and our cells perform more efficiently.

When cells are depleted or degenerating, they do not have the capability to maintain proper function, therefore, early signs of aging appear.

7. Do we really need to detoxify?

That depends...

There are different levels of detoxification.

First, know that our body’s are designed to naturally detoxify daily.  If we ate healthy and lived as we were designed to….in a non-manmade toxic environment, there would be no discussion of “detox diets” or “cleanses”.

So the first step for all, is start eating what the body was designed to eat.  Real - whole foods.  No processed foods.  This includes knowing  what food your meat, poultry and fish are eating.  Essentially, you are eating what they ate.  The energy in your body is an extension of the energy you put in.

High Quality Supplementation along with dietary changes to a more plant based,  good quality protein and EFAs,  is shown to be an integral component to help balancing blood sugars and help lower blood pressure and LDL levels.  This dietary change is the first step towards detoxification.

If one is already eating organic, whole foods, no sugar in their diet, and is still experiencing ill health, they need to see their doctor.  There could be an underlying factor unseen.

8. How many days to allow for a good detox?

This depends on personal preference of detox modality.

  • Do you like intermittent fasting
  • Do you like detox kits from the health food store that have herbs to help with bowel elimination?
  • Do you just want to eat cleaner?
  • Do you need to balance blood sugars first before a full on cleanse?

  • Dry brushing
  • Deep breathing
  • Proper sleep preparation and quality hours of sleep.
